There is a growing concern across the country regarding plaster board (drywall) that was imported in to the United States from manufacturers in China. In particular, drywall that contains sulfur
compounds.
There has been serious concerns regarding this
product in that it has an adverse effect on portions
of the home's construction, wiring and other
components.
The contaminated drywall omits gases that are naturally
corrosive to metals such as copper, brass, galvanized steel
and nickel. These metals are used in various
components such as elements of the heating and
cooling system, electrical wiring, galvanized studs,
straps, plumbing lines and fittings, appliances, low
voltage wiring, alarm systems, fire suppression
systems and personal electronics.
Gold Coast Inspections has teamed up with a local laboratory to
facilitate the appropriate testing to determine whether this product was used in the construction of the structure.
In addition to physical sample testing, Gold Coast Inspections performs limited visual inspections to determines as to whether a structure has the symptoms of the adverse contaminants.
